0| amber: lets get ready to rrrrrumble... a brief equipment rundown

alrighty, it's almost time to get this show on the road. but before i do that, i would like to do a quick equipment intro. this is what i will be using, hopefully, for most of my shots:

0.1| olympus e420

the smallest dslr of them all, the olympus e-420, with the diminutive 25mm f2.8 pancake attached. it is assisted by the remote-fire capable flashgun FL36R. what more could i want? (well. 35/3.5 macro, 12-60 f2.8-4, but i'm getting ahead of myself here)

0.2| leica dlux4

the fabulous leica d-lux4, known in some circles as the panasonic lumix lx-3 (essentially the same camera sans the red dot). amazing out of camera black and whites (the above olympus shot is in fact ooc from the leica), even smaller than the e420, and an amazing 24-60mm equivalent f2-2.8 lens. plus optical image stabilization. love it.

sorry about the dust, it hasn't been used in a while.

glad that we got the technical bits out of the way, the next post will be on the 1st of july with picture numero uno.

-what?
so i finally caved, and am jumping on the "project 365" bandwagon. 1 photo a day for 365 366 days. the photographic leap year. effectively one-upping the current 365-craze. (and yes, i am aware of the fact that the next leap year isnt until 2012.)

-why?
why not? it looks like a fun thing to try and do, as franzi will testify, and its a good reason to get out shooting as any. plus its good stuff to fill a blog with.

-yeah, whats with the blog?
the last time i attempted something like this, i failed miserably. i'm hoping that a purdy blog will make this endeavour more worthwhile. mmmh, everyone loves the purdy.

watch this space.
