The spectral irradiance as a function of photon wavelength (or energy), denoted by F, is the most common way of characterising a light source. It gives the power density at a particular wavelength. The units of spectral irradiance are in Wm-2µm-1. The Wm-2 term is the power density at the wavelength λ(µm). Therefore, the m-2 refers to the surface area of the light emitter and the µm-1 refers to the wavelength of interest.

76? no more numbers... | halo
yes i am still alive, but i've been busy, so i won't be updating daily anymore. the blog title has been changed to reflect this.
65| ye olde moon
heavily cropped due to lack of reach
---
my amateurish attempt to capture the moon together with the awesome clouds. 10 more stops of dynamic range wouldve been nice.
61| three
something a little bit different today. i shot these 2 days ago, but decided to give post-processing another whirl, and used these to learn how to do a triptych from within lightroom

although opinions on the horse in front of the print media lounge in heidelberg are pretty much split down the middle, it can't be denied that it has become one of the hallmarks of the town
42| retro
the Tetris sessions on the train ride home left me feeling a little nostalgic, so i've decided to dig out the classics. smb1 has got to be *the* classic, as old as i am, and still as fun as ever
